The last time Roméo et Juliette was staged at the Teatro Real, Spain was a kingdom under Amadeo I and the year was 1873. A century and a half later, Gounod’s masterpiece finally returns, arriving as the most talked-about production of the European season.

There will be thirteen functions in total across 27 May to 13 June. The opera plays out in five acts, lasting 3 h 10 min.
